Getting Here

When booking your flights, please note that Iceland's main international airport is Keflavík International Airport (KEF). Almost all international flights to and from Iceland arrive and depart from Keflavík Airport, which is located approximately 50 km (31 miles) from Reykjavík.

  • Flybus: The most frequent airport shuttle service, departing 35–40 minutes after each flight arrival. Transfers take approximately 45 minutes to the city center.
  • Taxi: Available 24/7 outside the terminal for a direct and private transfer. We recommend using Hreyfill, one of Iceland’s largest and most reliable taxi companies. The fare from Keflavík Airport to Reykjavík is typically around ISK 23,000 (approximately USD 180), depending on the destination and time of travel.
  • Hopp: Rent an electric scooter or use their ride-hailing service for flexible. You can download the Hopp app and order a taxi directly. Hopp operates in a similar way to Uber or Bolt and is another reliable transportation option that we are happy to recommend. movement within the city once you arrive.
Arriving at BSÍ Bus Terminal

If your shuttle drops you at the BSÍ terminal, you have three primary ways to reach your final destination: take a local bus (Strætó), hail a taxi from the stand, or enjoy a short scenic walk if your accommodation is in the nearby downtown area.

  • Taxi (fastest and easiest): The journey takes approximately 5 minutes and is the most convenient option, especially if you are travelling with luggage.

  • Public Bus (Strætó Route 5): Take Bus 5 from the Gamla Hringbraut stop, located next to BSÍ, and travel to Engjateigur. From there, it is just a short walk to the hotel. Buses run approximately every 15 minutes, and the journey takes around 10 minutes.

  • Walking: The Hilton Reykjavik Nordica is approximately 2.7 km from BSÍ Bus Terminal. The walk takes around 35-40 minutes and is mostly flat.
